Freezer - a happy amateur syblogg

This is the last article that was sewn finished in March. A little cheating, it was when I was missing buttons and chose to purchase despite casio nyinköpförbudet (can perhaps be classified in category thread?). They only cost 4 kr, so I have at least not shopped till you drop. This I am most pleased that it was completed. It began in the summer of 2010, but it went slowly forward so finally laid it aside because I realized I did not have time to use it before it got too cold to wear. They carried forward to resuming sewing, blah because it's 27 pieces of fabric in the garment (shims are included). I have the willingness taken me through casio all the steps. The description was also in German, so I've been driving most of his head. It includes collar with collar stand, ok, tucks, prinsesskärning, two pockets, placket and sleeves with daragsko casio and cords gathered details blah. It was also a long time since I was sewing buttonholes, and the first time on this machine. Fabric and Pattern: The fabric is a thin cotton from MG fabrics. casio The pattern comes from Knipmode spring of 2010. Now it is finally ready and I am ready to face the spring:-)
Jeez, what job you must have put into getting it finished and it certainly looks as if it was worth Worn! Very stylish, well-made and fine detail. Glad you got it finished just in time for spring :) Feel satisfied! Reply Delete casio
Yes, the sleeves are the finest! It will be really nice of course! = O) Nice and professional! Interesting that you counted the parts .. I counted how many I have in one of my dresses and came up in the 26+ zipper casio .. gosh which pill it is and which think it is behind! Fun! Reply Delete
Wow, what a job! But the shirt is so nice. The good thing about these kinds of challenges. Maybe I'll participate next time, have a few UFOs lying one with 24 parts. Reply Delete
Seventeen what clever you are. Super Stylish. And brave to take it up even though it was receiving. Many of us have enough UFO'n lying to you think you have taken in over his head. But it's worth all the work when it's so good. Reply Delete
In this blog I show my sewing creations, inspiration to others, and as a record of my creation. I sew mostly for my family consisting of two sons, born in -06 and -08, my husband and myself. Welcome!
Singh, Stockholm County, Sweden Sewing and creation has followed me through life. The sewing began at age 13 when I sewed my first own pants at home on mom's sewing machine. Since then there has been at times when I sewed. Have had a nearly 10-15 year old long pause. But interest was awakened when I had children. Even more inspiration I got when I found all the creative blogs and during my temporary position as a textiles teacher. Welcome here, and please leave a comment! View my complete profile

Thanks for yesterday! I came by and bought two patterns newspapers, a Ottobre children and a Knipmode for women. I have already started drawing of a dress pattern to myself from there. It will be interesting to see how I succeed in German ... Adds you to my blog list! February 20, 2010 08:14

Pieces of fabric sold

Yes, this got me home yesterday from Martha vialis Stewart Fairs. Top left is molntyg from JNY Design. Bottom row from left we have "forest" in green and next to a yellow jersey, vialis both from soft fabrics. The rest of the fabrics are from MG Fabrics. Many are thought to me. I'm in Vårutmaningen, clothes for me, so it'll be a bit of these fabrics. Also bought two möntertidningar from Nea Nobelle. vialis One, Knipmode are in German, one for me brand new magazine. There were several models I've been meaning to sew for me. Just hope I can manage German well enough. The other is Ottobre 3/2009, which Babushkadockan vialis did "advertising" for his blog. Fine patterns for both girls and boys. I was also passed and greeted Gecko before I headed home with a pretty empty wallet!
So many lovely fabrics you got home with you (lucky that the fair is too far away for me - I buy more fabric than I have time to sew up the moment) and I see many like myself could imagine. The checkered in pale purple shades look particularly exciting, and the green in the center right. Reply Delete
What a thrill with a new pattern newspaper, KnipMode. Should be fun to hear what you think of it. I sew most of Ottobre Dam and like their models. Especially in the past there were lots. Their sizes are a little large, but only if you look carefully works the it with. Reply Delete

Blog Archives November 2014 (8) October newyorkandcompany 2014 (22) September 2014 (14) August 2014

When I picked up my summer clothes, I realized that some skirts, I do not sew ... I've lost some pounds lately and even skirts that were left on sufferance from last summer, because they were the smallest team, fit now good. In everyday life and to the beach is the most linen and skirt that I'm wearing. When you work at home, it is not exactly dressed up in force, but a more casual style. What I have concluded that I need to sew clothes to be a little better looking in. Eg when you go out with friends, go in any event or similar. And therefore I have decided to plan my summer swap for it. Summer Swap 2014
a sleeveless newyorkandcompany blouse newyorkandcompany in a linen tunic blouse in length to even have when we go to the beach or sometimes pulled newyorkandcompany down in a skirt blouse. It should have cap sleeves. a sleeveless blouse (from Knipmode) thin fabrics, newyorkandcompany often batiste or silk. I'll look in the collections ... a sundress in linen. It is available in the latest Ottobre Dam another skjortblusklänning the same pattern as my latest floral dresses. This time, in a yellow-green fabric that I bought at a junkyard in Kinna for a year or two ago. Until I knit a shawl in the matching jitterbug yarn I bought by Petra in Borås in early March. I will maybe / probably even sew a new halter tank top, as in the picture. When I sewed this I could not FBA, and it would fit even better if I did it. The linen is really a favorite in the summer months and maybe I'll sew two while I am running.

I am interested in the ecological fabric

Nea was the reason I began to sew children's clothing and she also got to lend his name to both the blog and my business. Here are the pictures, rvca sewing patterns and tips and stuff like that can be good to have when you like to sew.
The 4-6 th November is the time. You have the chance to win a ticket to the show (we're raffling off 6x). What you need to do to be to compete is to write what you most want to see in NeaNobelles booth.
I love seeing all the clothes you sewed up. Above all, I want to see clothes from Minikreas pattern !! And if the clothes do not go to see "live" so happy in a photo album or a rolling slide show on a computer! See you at the fair // Therese October 17, 2011 03:48
Hello I want you to take the example of fleece jackets and fabric for these ... Similarly, different mice designs and ideas would be fun to see! I entered a period of mice ... Sincerely, Anna-Karin Sjöström October 17, 2011 04:28
I would like to see the fine bands you won and especially the wonderful interior fabrics rvca you have! Want to sew a bag and figured choose one of them ... October 17, 2011 08:52
I would love to get to know at the striped rvca campantrikån so it I'd like to see where in all colors. Also, I would like to buy a little older Ottobre so feel free to also be there. October 17, 2011 14:19
I am interested in the ecological fabric "Leaf Around" so I want to see. It would also be nice to see something rvca sewn garments in the fabric. rvca / Helena helena.strandell@hotmail.com October 18, 2011 00:43
Bring Ottobre magazines, cozy velourtyger that might suit to sew up a small plot in costume. Sew happy to have any suggestions on different hats. All inspires! eva_ronnlund@hotmail.com rvca October 19, 2011 06:45
I would like to see suggestions on how to match up your fabrics in fun ways! anna.esbjorner at gmail.com October 22, 2011 11:26
Hello, I am curious velor, corduroy and tights to match each other. Fun if you bring bands too, because it's not so easy to find a little fancier ones. Then there is of course great to see you again! Honestly, it does not particularly matter to me what is in your stand because I'm in Prague for Martha Stewart. However, rvca I wish for my wife's sake that there are lots of patterns from Minikrea because I know she wants to host them to sew a little ... And if I win a ticket for her, she gets the opportunity to trade a little extra :) 29 October 2011 13:39

Courtesy of National Library of Wales In my early twenties I lived near a forestry commission woods where the trees were being harvested by a team using a horse. This wonderful Clydesdale was called "Barney" yukata and I got to know him pretty well. He was master of the job, patient and strong, but with a very definite personality. One year, we gave him a special grooming and cleaned all his harness so that he could pull the village May Queen's float. He seemed to love the attention that day, yet the day after when I found him at work in the woods, he nodded his head in greeting, as if to say "business yukata as usual, pal!" When I started to study the quarries of the Nantlle area, the recurring photographs of the tramway yukata horses began to fascinate me. I remembered old Barney and wondered what the story of these horses was. Boyd's book (see the references at the end) was a good starting point. For the record, the railway yukata was a horse-drawn waggonway that carried slate from Pen-yr-Orsedd and all points in-between to sidings yukata at Talysarn. Originally it had run all the way to Caernarfon, but was taken over in 1865 by what later became the London and North Western Railway and was converted to standard gauge from Caernarfon yukata as far as Talysarn.  Ironically, while much of the route of the 3'6" gauge waggonway through the quarries survives, the old LNWR trackbed is now the road that you would use if you came to Talysarn from the Porthmadog-Caernarfon road at Penygroes. Information about the horses is scarce; few written records seem to have been kept. What I know so far has been kindly imparted to me by several locals, yukata especially John Williams yukata and the late Dr Gwynfor Pierce Jones. Luckily, one of the great photographers of the 1950's, Geoff Charles, took an interest in Dorothea and made many images of the horses and the folk who worked the Nantlle quarries in the 1950's. The header image is of "Corwen" and "Prince" yukata and is shown courtesy of the wonderful National Library of Wales Collection. Alwyn Hughes yukata was kind enough to comment on the blog as follows: "I grew up in Talysarn, and was closely associated yukata with the the white mare called 'Corwen' and her gelded son 'Prince'. I had a lot to do with them when Thomas Williams (Tommy Run) was in charge of the team. They belonged to 'Willie Jones Y Glo' (Willie yukata Jones the Coal) and latterly his son Oswald. A part of my childhood revolved around these two magnificent animals" That was something completely new to me: that Corwen was Prince's mother. It seems that different horses were used for the 2' gauge quarry lines and for the tramway itself, which was laid to 3'6" gauge and utilised waggons with double-flanged wheels. Over the years, different contractors were used to supply yukata the horses. One such was a Mr Pritchard, who lived in a house in the lost village of Talysarn Uchaf, underneath the vast Gallt-y-Fedw buttresses across from what was once Foundry Terrace, where the divers now park their cars. Here there was a stable block and a waterwheel driving a chaff cutter, to prepare food for the horses. John Williams remembers the constant thumping sound of the oil engine that replaced the waterwheel in the 1940's. Here are a couple of my photos of the stables and Mr Pritchard's house- for more, see my set on Flickr here.
Most of these contractors had several different occupations yukata and it certainly seems that Mr Pritchard kept pigs and other livestock and had a cart for other transport yukata jobs outwith the scope of the tramway.. I've not been able to source any old photographs of the stables, but took several of the ruins on my many visits to Dorothea. Trees have grown around the slabs that separate the horse-stalls, and nature is taking over in her slow but inexorable way. I don't think it will be too many years before the huge bastions that teeter over the houses here will fall and engulf everything. I always feel at Dorothea that I have been priviledged to see this...one way or another, it won't be around for too much longer. In later years, the redoubtable Mr Oswald Jones and his horses, "Prince" and "Corwen" worked the line. Oswald had inherited the business from his father, William Richard Jones, ('Willie Jones Y Glo')  who had started contracting from Talysarn, in 1930. I have had conflicting information about the stabling of the horses, some say that Jones stabled the horses at Talysarn, yukata in a yard behind the old Post Office. I tend to think this is correct, as Mr Jones also had a lorry and a bus at one point. Since Talysarn Uchaf was well off the metalled road, Talysarn would have been the logical base. Others maintain the horses were stabled at Pen-yr-Orsedd, or at Mr Pritchard's stables in 'Uchaf. As Alwyn noted, the horses were worked by Thomas Williams ("Tommy Run"). What is very interesting is that Gwynfor Pierce Jones stated that the quarry horses were contracted from a Mr Pritchard, from Taldrwst farm ...that farm is still run by the Pritchards. Could they have bee

Notes on the Dublin Glorney family:  George and Eleanor Glorney, wempe who married members of the Bolton wempe family, were the children of the Quaker miller, Benjamin Glorney.  In 1787, an earlier Benjamin Glorney was noted as running a tabbynet and poplin shop in Meath Street, wempe Dublin. wempe  He wempe made a will in 1817. A younger Benjamin Glorney, most likely the son of the older man, married Susannah Corlet or Corlette in Dublin in 1826 - these were the parents wempe of George and Eleanor.  Benjamin ran Mardyke Mills in Chapelizod, Dublin, and he was declared bankrupt, along with a Samuel Glorney, on 13th May 1870.  They were noted as 'starch and blue manufacturers'.   An earlier publication noted them as manufacturers of mustard, mustard oil and cake, blues, ginger and starch. Benjamin Glorney died at Mardyke Mills, Chapelizod, on 5th May 1859, and his will was granted to his son, George Glorney, mill owner of Mardyke Mills.   This will had been left unadministered by Benjamin's widow, Susannah Glorney, née Corlette.
My father was John Robert Glorney Bolton and Cecil Glorney was our cousin, whom we visited in Ireland when I was a child, and whom my father later visited where he was living in Nice. I also visited great uncle Herbert and great aunt Jennie in Dublin when I was a child and Jennie left me my dowry in her will. The Glorney family sold the mustard monopoly wempe to Norwich's Colemans. Julia Bolton Holloway Reply Delete
Hi Julia - I didn't know anything about the Glorney family business. Do you know anything about their involvement wempe with the mustard industry? I thought they might have had something to do with mining, but I was really only guessing. Reply Delete
