Memory : Patriot 4 x 4GB DDR3-1600

PSU : Antec Quattro 850W
AMD A10-5800K Kingston HyperX 8GB 1600MHz Asus F2A85-M LE (a85) Corsair CX500M (500W obviously, some extra watts for possible upgrades) Samsung 840 120GB Some cheapo mid tower case I haven't snuggies been following snuggies any news on tech related stuff for some time now and a friend of mine is going to buy a system tomorrow, we worked this list out in kind of a hurry so I need a little help from you guys. I'm not 100% sure on the a10, is the 5800k really necessary? snuggies He intends to do some casual gaming, and with a low budget (400-500) I think it's better to go with the integrated graphics rather than buying an extra GPU, at least according to a few benchies I checked out, right? snuggies Oh and the motherboard... Apparently a75/a85 is the way to go with FM2? Comments? tytyty
Mainboard : GIGABYTE GA-EP45T-UD3LR
Since snuggies it is an AMD based machine yes I would go without a graphics card since he going to do casual gaming and integrated AMD graphics are far better than the integrated Intel graphics and he will get by just fine without an actual graphics board and plus he is on a budget. As far as the motherboard goes Im not sure about that. I think the cpu is fine and will last him for years to come.
I might go for this board instead: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16813130662 It's cheaper, and should perform just as well. Downside is the fact that it only has 2 RAM slots instead of 4. deltatux

The asus board I posted is 4 cheaper here than the MSI one, and btw they both have 2 RAM slots. alright, up to you then lol. Both are missing VRM coolers so don't overclock it too much. Get DDR3-1866 RAM btw, the faster the RAM, the better the graphical performance. AMD APUs are very sensitive snuggies to the RAM clockspeeds. deltatux   snuggies
He's not going to overclock anyway :d One thing though, the FM2 socket doesn't seem to be that future proof.. I mean we chose a 500w PSU if he ever wants to buy a dedicated GPU. CPU is going to require a socket snuggies change = new motherboard. However, at least judging by a few benchmarks/reviews I read, you really snuggies can't beat the price:performance of these APUs. You'd have to pay a nice extra just to get a separate CPU and GPU for future proofing (AM3+ e.g.), am i right?     snuggies
How soon until the Axx-6xxx (Richland) become snuggies available in stores? They are released next week I believe. The A10-6800K may be something to look at over an A10-5800k. Depending on cost go for DDR3-2133 if it is a similar snuggies price to DDR3-1866.
Nah, would take too long to wait for it to arrive in Europe... Anyway, I found a good 1866 set, but I wanted to ask if APU really is the way to go? I don't think you can really get more performance with 400-500 than with the a10 5800k?

Of course, there's always no guarantee if AMD will stick to their socket after 2014. For sure, Haswell will require socket change snuggies on the Intel side. Once Richland rolls out, it should roll out to Europe in no time, unless you live in the middle of nowhere lol. I would recommend waiting for Richland if possible. If not, the A10-5800K is great. Personally, I would wait for Kaveri releasing by winter 2013 but up to you lol. deltatux

Correction, based on today's roadmap release, snuggies AMD is going to do a slight revision to their FM2 socket for Kaveri. Seeing that it's FM2+, it's likely backwards compatible with FM2 APUs (and maybe even forward compatible, but will lack features). deltatux
